I have been singing this song for over twenty years, little did I know when i first learned it that Carlow would become my family's home.This song has become a song of identity for all Carlovians. It commemorates the defeat of an army of three thousand English soldiers by Fiach McHugh O'Byrne's men in the battle of Glenmalur in 1580.
